One of the most fulfilling parts of my job is getting to travel and capture wedding experiences in different corners of the world. Getting to explore a new and inspirational place, hang out with each couple, their families, and document these once-in-a-lifetime moments is what sets my heart on fire. When I first heard about Jessie and Nick’s vision for their wedding day, I immediately felt so connected to them and their plan. For them, what truly mattered was being surrounded by those who they love and care about most. The best part? It was an intimate Mexico wedding at Hacienda Tamchen. Their day was romantic, editorial, and so incredibly them and I have been so excited to share.
The Love Story
Jessie and Nick met on a little dating app called Tinder, maybe you’ve heard of it? Honestly, so many couples nowadays are connecting through social media apps and I’m so here for it. After an immediate connection, they began writing the chapters in their love story. These two are so adventurous… I swear they’ve been everywhere. Being able to incorporate that love of travel into a wedding weekend was a no brainer for them.
Hacienda Tamchen – Mexico Wedding Venue
After going over their options, they settled on Hacienda Tamchen in Yucatán, Mexico. Just by stepping onto the property, you can feel that the space is meant to give you a sense of calm, silence and tranquility. The architecture is truly a masterpiece… at every corner you’re greeted with stunning greenery and wildlife and it truly immerses you into the culture and spirit of the Yucatán. It’s for those who enjoy beauty, nature and fabulous design.
At the Hacienda Tamchen you are stimulated with the contrast of both old and new. You’re greeted with old Hacienda architecture, yet a modern buildout on the old walls. It has clear contemporary pools, lush gardens, and jungle surroundings. Getting to play in new spaces like these and experience new cultures make my creativity mind run wiiiiild. It just makes me beyond blown away by all of the hidden corners of this planet.
Intimate Mexico Wedding at Hacienda Tamchen
Jessie and Nick had the most relaxing wedding day. Starting off with getting ready in two of the beautifully expansive rooms at Hacienda Tamchen. Jessie opted for a modern Shop Cinq two piece gown and a slick ponytail to compliment it, while Nick went with a perfectly fitted J Crew suit. Once they put the finishing touches on their looks, they met for an emotional first look on the steps of the main house.
Underneath the bustling trees and greenery, Jessie and Nick exchanged vows. Together, surrounded by the family and friends that flew all this way to support them, they made the most touching promises and emotional declarations of love. Cocktail hour was held by the large lily pond, and the sounds of old love songs and lively conversation filled the entire outdoor space.
Candlelit Dinners + Twinkling Lights
Jessie & Nick’s celebration ended with a night filled with twinkling lights, candlelit dinners and hearing the sound of laughter and conversation bounce between the walls of the hacienda, followed by a tequila-and-Abba-fueled dance party. It was the perfect way to end the weekend in Yucatán. Can’t even express how much it meant to me to be able to celebrate Jessie and Nick on one of the most important days of their lives. I will forever cherish this one!
