Oooh man, this one is such a special one for me! Sophie and Dan are my absolute best friends. So when we found out they were pregnant with their first baby, Sophie and I were already deep in planning their maternity photos.
Sophie & Dan’s Sierra Nevada Summer Maternity Photos
Dan proposed in the Sierra Nevadas while on a snowboarding trip with Sophie. Fast forward to a few years later, Sophie, Dan, my husband Daniel, & I headed up to the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the dead of winter to get them married. We stopped at the courthouse to grab a marriage license on the way. Then, we got Daniel ordained and picked a spot at Convict Lake to do the damn thing. It was one of my favorite memories with them – no frills, just pure love and commitment to each other.
When Sophie told me she wanted to do them in their special place, I just knew they needed to be intentional and natural. I wanted these photos to feel effortless and organic. The embodiment of creating new life with someone you deeply love.
We went off roading and bopped around to a few of our special spots where we camp together most summers, taking photos and reminiscing on the beauty of these years and the memories we are creating. Watching these two become parents has been such an incredible experience and truly so beautiful to witness. I cannot wait to meet their newest adventure, a beautiful baby due in July.
